It’s the standard first aid certification recognised across most Australian workplaces, and it includes the CPR skills covered in HLTAID009.

- Performing CPR and using an AED
- Managing an unconscious or bleeding casualty

- Managing medical conditions such as asthma, anaphylaxis, seizures and cardiac events

Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. As with CPR, you must be physically able to perform uninterrupted CPR on a manikin on the floor. Pre-course online theory and a short knowledge assessment are typically completed before the face-to-face session.
Delivery & assessment
Delivered as a blended program — pre-course online theory followed by face-to-face practical training and assessment — or as a full face-to-face course. Assessment includes practical scenarios, demonstration of CPR, and written or oral questioning. You must demonstrate competency to be issued a Statement of Attainment.
